THE MISSING LINK
The transformative learning experiences provided by the Lit 4 Lyfe & Language Learning Program and products are designed to help our students practice literary analysis while immersed in cultural literacy - folklore based on actual African-American stories. Our approach makes us the missing link for engaging readers. Tying culture to English Language mastery undoubtedly creates success. The multi-faceted, interactive process both engrosses and empowers children. It highlights their culture, language and environments while enhancing English Language skills.

Established by Cathie Wright-Lewis, retired high school English teacher, staff developer and Adjunct Professor in Brooklyn, NY, in 2016 the Lit 4 Lyfe & Learning Language began training high school students to utilize her children's book, Mama Relly to tutor struggling third graders at a neighborhood elementary school. Wright-Lewis developed a curriculum, language and writing prompts, activities and lesson plans to administer in the after-school program. Not only did the high school and elementary students benefit greatly from the experience, their standardized test scores improved as well.
